We call this jaaji 'Vira Jaaji'. Sanna jaaji are longer than these. You are not missing anything from India, in fact you have lot more than those who live in metros.

Congrats on your diet program Indira, only if I had the will power like you did...I would have lost some pounds. This is indeed an inspiration to me. Although I admit I cannot follow your diet, I will atleast feel guilty when eating those extra calorie food.

Hello, dear Indira!

For the record, I don't find this monotonous at all! I've had a busy week and am not able to comment daily, but I am very much enjoying your journal. Lots of tasty ideas for healthy meals (like the paneer tomato... chard with chickpeas, this yummy cabbage!) beautiful photos of your own garden produce and oh, the flowers! So lovely, all.

Aside from the inspiration you provide others through your writing, I am certain this journaling process is good for us as individuals -- something worthwhile that we can do for ourselves. I too keep a journal (not *half* as healthy!) but I am not so disciplined as to have it neatly in one place :)

BTW I have been back to rice-less meals for months now. I miss it terribly, too. I have *no* discipline when it comes to rice -- I eat my spicy meals over plain cauliflower instead. Can one make bean/lentil adai without rice? That would be *something* like roti-substitute ;)

Have a wonderful Sunday :)

PS how is darling kittaya?

I love cabbage with my yogurt too - this is amazing. My husband makes fun of me eating this way without rice and used to tell me I must be the only weird one in the entire universe!!! ;)

I just told him I had company! :)

I find it hard to cut off any food out of my system completely. Even when I do, I get back with vengeance. I have been under detox diet for a while now. Will post about it in my blog soon... :)

Excellent schedule Indira! Congrats on completing a successful week.
