Hi Indira – the Ganesha Festival has come and passed on – we had the visarjanams of the Mumbai ganeshas last week; and from my sea facing flat, i could see the hordes of devotees immerse them in the Arabian Sea (some even used the tiny fisherfolk boats to ferry their Ganesha deeper into the sea).

Havent’s een any new posts recently, looking forward to some Bhakshanam updates.

Very very nice – and although it is not difficult to buy Ganpatis in Mumbai (where I live), i had been regularly making the Ganeshas out of different materials – usually clay , though 2 years ago, i used old newspaper mache to create them. I could not make one this year since i was travelling on the days prior to Ganesh Chaturthi – but I will share with you pics of 2 Ganesha’s i made – both of clay – one was coloured white with maida.
