Winter Bloom ~ Camellia
Pink Perfection ~ Camellia in Bloom
You know how some first impressions last a lifetime? First time I saw a camellia in bloom was about 20 years ago, during a college trip to Kodaikanal botanic gardens. It was a quick glance, may be few seconds but I remembered those palm sized big beauties and their endearing perfection. It was on my must have plants since then, and I was finally able to plant camellias last November. The variety photographed above is called Pink Perfection and is in full bloom this winter. The flowers are so gorgeous; I think the photo really does not do justice to this pink perfection.
Very beautiful, petals looks so perfect.
Beautiful !!!
Wow beautiful flower ……..
I’m seeing the flower for the first time & it is beautiful.
Living in B’lore , we get the camellia foliage from Ooty, for floral decoration purposes. Half the battle is won when these leaves are used. Occasionally , there is an odd tight bud on these stems . But this bloom is something else !
lovely…
Looks so beautiful, love the pink colour.
We have the same camellia at home, it is pristine pure white. It blooms profoundly and looks very good. Very nice deep pink color in the picture.
We had bright red and stark white camelias in my parents’ backyard growing up and I loved them. Not only are they stunning to look at, I love that they bloom in winter and brighten up the garden when the rest of the landscape is less colorful.
Gorgeous. Does it make a good cut flower for the vase? Can it be dried ?
Oh wow….that is a beauty!
