Wow Indira, Its a treat for the eyes. I am still waiting to plant the tomato plants here in the northeast. climate has been so chill and rainy 🙁 You already have one harvest..

PS: those brinjals can be grown in pots.Any idea??
Vanitha, Brinjals do well in big containers, particularly the big and bulky Italian variety.

    Hello Indiragaru,
Can you please suggest what Plant Food/Fertilizer do you use for your vegetable and other fruits and plants in your garden and how often. This is my first year gardening and your suggestion would greatly help.

    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Rashmi

    Hi Rashmigaaru,
This year, I haven’t used any fertilizer for vegetable plants. I did do heavy composting during winter months and filled the beds with that compost during this spring.
For fruit trees, I apply bone meal and all purpose fertilizer 13-13-13 during spring and fall, twice a year.
For reliable harvest, mix the soil with compost and cow manure if possible. If you think the soil needs additional help, then add all purpose fertilizer like miracle gro etc.,
All the best with your gardening efforts.

    Hello Indiragaaru,

Thank you so much for your quick response on my question. Your suggestion is so helpful.
I have been a follower of your blog for a quiet a while now and I eargerly wait for your garden log pics and details all the time .
We moved from Northeast 6 months back and believe me all the details you have regarding houston and Sugarland area, was also a key player in making up my mind to move here. So gardenening in this hot weather is new for us. We hope our efforts works well.
Once again Thanks for everything and Good Luck

    Take Care.

    Regards.

    Rashmi.

PS: you can address me as Rashmi 🙂
